Neuromorphic photonics is a promising research field due to its potential tackle the limitations arising from bottleneck of von-Neumann computation architecture. Inspired by characteristics and behavior biological brain, photonic neural networks are touted as solution for solving complex problems that require GHz operation at low latency power consumption. An essential building block such network low-complexity multiply-accumulate operation, which efficient functional implementations in optical domain sought for. Towards this direction, we present synaptic receptor functionally integrates weighting signal detection. This accomplished through monolithic integrated semiconductor amplifier reflective electro-absorption modulator, together serve colorless frequency demodulator detector frequency-coded signals.
